Lemongrass essential oil is steam-distilled from the leaves of Cymbopogon flexuosus, an aromatic grass native to South and Southeast Asia with a long history of use in Ayurvedic and traditional Indian medicine for fever, infection, and digestive complaints. The oil is dominated by citral — a mixture of geranial and neral — which accounts for its intensely fresh, earthy-citrusy aroma and its documented antimicrobial and antifungal activity.
Botanical Profile
- Botanical Name: Cymbopogon flexuosus
- Plant Part: Leaves
- Processing Method: Steam Distilled
- Main Constituent: Citral 68–85% (geranial + neral)

Thyme, Lavender, Rosemary, Cedarwood, Lemon, Geranium, Basil, Eucalyptus, Peppermint
Dilution & Safety
Always dilute before topical application. Recommended dilution: 1% maximum for leave-on skin products due to high citral content — citral can cause sensitization at higher concentrations. A patch test is recommended prior to first use. Avoid contact with eyes. Keep out of reach of children. Store in a dark glass container away from heat and light.
